Plant-based chemistry, also known as renewable chemistry, consists of producing, from plants such as rapeseed or sunflower, ingredients traditionally derived from fossil resources. Whereas conventional chemistry starts with petroleum derivatives, plant-based chemistry starts with a seed or a crop.
