TWO INCUBATORS WITH HIGH-POTENTIAL BUSINESS ACTIVITIES
Avril supports young and innovative companies in their development, in order to make them assets for the Group's future.
Avril’s two incubators foster emerging business activities with high potential for the Group:
- Food ingredients with Olatein for the extraction of rapeseed protein isolate (in partnership with DSM Firmenich), and Sunbloom Proteins for the production and sale of sunflower protein-based ingredients;
- Biomaterials with Evertree for low-carbon, bio-sourced adhesives (used notably in the manufacture of particle board).
DISRUPTIVE INNOVATIONS IN FOOD INGREDIENTS WITH PLANT PROTEINS
Created via the partnership between Avril and DSM-Firmenich, Olatein is an ambitious industrial project for the creation of a new sector in plant proteins for human consumption. Olatein processes rapeseed meal to produce and market an isolate with high protein content.
Sunbloom Proteins is a young German company specializing in the production and sale of protein- rich sunflower ingredients for human consumption.

HEALTHIER FURNITURE WITH BIOMATERIALS
Evertree works with oilseed meal to develop bio-sourced alternative ingredients, which is used to make plant-based adhesives capable of replacing petroleum-based resins. Their primary application is in the manufacture of composite wood panels, or particle board.

Innolab: Driving Innovation to Support Agricultural and Food Transitions
Avril has recently taken a major step forward in its innovation strategy with the launch of Innolab, its first integrated laboratory located in Bruz, near Rennes. This facility brings together nearly 50 researchers and aims to develop innovative solutions for both human food and animal nutrition, leveraging expertise in FOOD, FEED, and DATA. The FOOD division focuses on enhancing plant-based ingredients derived from oilseeds and legumes, supporting subsidiaries such as Vivien Paille Ingrédients and Sunbloom Proteins in developing new product lines. This initiative is fully aligned with Avril’s mission to “Serve the Earth,” addressing key challenges in agricultural, food, and environmental transitions.
