Strategy and CSR, an integrated approach

The CSR approach is at the heart of Avril’s strategy and is supported by tangible objectives, managed and measured by performance indicators. The publication of the 2021 Extra-Financial Performance Declaration is an opportunity to take stock of the Group’s progress in terms of sustainable development.

In May 2021, after three years of collaborative work, Avril unveiled its purpose: ” Serving the Earth “. This purpose is expressed in six commitments and offers each employee real reasons to act on a daily basis.

éclairage
“Avril is a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact thus affirming its desire to contribute to attaining the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Two years after joining, Avril reached the Advanced level, or the highest level of reporting, which is only achieved by 11% of companies.”

Contributing to global progress

Through these six commitments, Avril measures and monitors its contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Given its activities, and in particular its food production, the energy performance challenges of its plants and the innovative solutions it offers as an alternative to fossil fuels, Avril is contributing to the achievement of 11 of these 17 SDGs.

Reporting in a dedicated report

Shortly after its integrated 2021 annual report, published last May, Avril published its 2021 Extra-Financial Performance Declaration, a mandatory annual CSR reporting document that details all the progress measured by the Group for each of its sustainable development issues. In particular, it presents the progress of the SPRING score, a summary of 25 CSR indicators.
