Innolab: boosting innovation

This is a key milestone for Avril! In spring this year, we opened our first in-house laboratory dedicated to human and animal nutrition: Innolab. This strategic research center, established on the Bruz campus site, will ensure we accelerate our innovation ambitions.

Dedicated to the Feed (animal nutrition) and Food (human nutrition) markets, this new in‑house innovation laboratory was created to underpin our Ambition 2030 strategic roadmap. Its mandate: autonomously fast‑track products and solutions that meet the challenges of today’s food, agricultural, and environmental transitions.

Collaborative innovation

Innolab operates as a service platform for Avril’s subsidiaries and their partners, forging synergies with the Group’s other R&D centers in Compiègne and Saint‑Beauzire. By amplifying collective intelligence in eco‑innovation, it strengthens cross‑functional collaboration across feed, food, and data, becoming the Group’s first dedicated thematic “innovation hub.”

Three pillars of expertise

  • Feed : Develops cutting‑edge nutritional solutions that enable resilient, resource‑efficient, low‑carbon livestock systems. Primary beneficiary: Sanders.
  • Food : Assists Avril ingredient‑producing subsidiaries in formulating high‑value, plant‑based products with superior environmental performance. Innolab combines technical depth and innovation to help clients engineer winning products—from mastering ingredient functionalities to crafting tailored recipes and delivering end‑to‑end technical support.
  • Data : Data scientists structure and analyze Feed and Food datasets to build computational models that precisely quantify environmental footprints, gauge nutrition’s impact on livestock performance, and optimize formulations for both human and animal consumption.
